November 13, 2006… That night was beautiful for that time of the year. The leaves had already turned colors and they had started there decent to the earth. I remember that the night up on the hill was dark and quiet, and not really cold yet. I had made it a point to be up their when I had a lot on my mind; it was a good place to be alone and think.
I reached the open field, around midnight. The spot that I was heading to was just over the knoll from that. Previous to that night it was one of my most traveled areas of research. An area filled with young saplings as well as older trees, open fields and open star-filled skies.
I pulled into the grassy field about 12:10am, and had my stereo going. Not loud but in that area it carried through the trees. Before I turned off my truck I rolled down my windows. But I had the running lights on, when the sun goes down up there it becomes black out.
I had gotten out of my truck, and shut the door behind me. I leaned in through the drivers’ window to get something and I heard something in the tree line behind me, about 20 yards away, and got that feeling I was not alone. Not an “I’m in danger, flighty feeling”…just that I wasn’t alone.
I knew something was there, but what exactly I wasn’t sure. So I went around to the front of my truck, where the running lights softly illuminated the ground, and a small area in front of the truck. I crawled up on the hood and there I sat for about 15-20minutes just listening to my music. Just then I heard something walking around the backside of my truck. I slid off the hood onto the ground, and looked to the road, where I heard the footsteps. Just on the light line about 15-20 feet away was standing a large, slender male sasquatch. His body was covered with dark brownish hair, and he stood at least 7-8 feet tall. He was standing sideways to me, and had his head turned in my direction….just standing there…looking at me. His eyes seemed to stand out, beyond everything else, Soft and gentle….the way he looked at me was like he knew me. I was in complete and utter awe in this creature’s presence. I didn’t want to move, I didn’t want him to leave…I wanted to make this encounter in for as long as I possibly could. It seemed that it lasted for minutes, but in reality it lasted for about 30-40 seconds…it doesn’t seem long but it felt like forever. Then he slowly turned away and walked away into the blackness of the night.
People wonder why I do what I do…….this is why, and I wouldn’t change it for all the money in the world.

| Thank you BSawyer for the rather descriptive narrative on your Fall encounter. You should consider writing essays or short stories. You've been given a rare gift--to be able to paint a picture so eloquently with words is a tough task. Thanks again for sharing--------TnC---------

What a great encounter I think I know the feeling, it's like you want to say "hello how ya doing" but you know that any sudden movement or sound will end the moment. I'm glad it was a very peacefull visit. And that feeling of it was like he knew you, I Think we all have our own body scent , "our signature smell" he was probably use to your scent being there at times because as you said you went there as a favorite place. They have a remarkable memory of our scent and sound of our voice. So in a "sense" he did know or remember you. I'm glad you can appriciate the experience without wanting to go out and set up a net or trap to capture one.

The place of the second sighting is about 1 mile from the location that I had my first . When I made the comment, He looked at me like he knew me......Kinda hit home. Not knowing their growth rate...my sighting of the young one, which was in 2000.....could it have been the same creature I saw in 2006? I has made me wonder for awhile now. It was all in the eyes, If I didn't know any better I'd swear that this creature remembered me . I felt blessed and so small in it's presents. I really didn't want it to end.

Thanks for sharing this with us.
This past weekend I had the pleasure of hearing about many encounters with these creatures. The one story I heard that takes top prize was one about having one of these creatures close and watching it move and watching it blink its' eyes while it was standing there watching and looking at the person that told this to me.
People that have these encounters are amazed by these creatures and these encounters change these people.
Even most of those that have have a somewhat scary encounter..will tell you..they do not want to see these creatures harmed.
I can understand how and why some people get very protective of these creatures. I can also see why some people are asking for trouble if they say anything negative in front of, or make a post on a forum that these people are a member of and a part of.
I also understand others ideas and views on the other side of the fence. Those that believe that the only way this is ever going to be "solved" is to produce a body for science so that they can say.. see..here is what we been telling you about.
This takes us to the "NO-KILL" verses "PRO-KILL" issue.
Can the two live peacefully together? Some say yes..some say no. I believe they can..as long as both sides agree to disagree and let it go at that. No point beating a dead mule and trying to make him do something .. because he isn't.
The old thing about..don't feed the trolls can be applied here. I am not calling everyone that is "Pro-Kill" a troll. You are a troll if you join this forum with the intent to cause trouble between members and disrupt the forum in general. I know that some have done this in the past and will most likely attempt to do the same in the future.
Here is what I am asking the forum members to do.
If we have a new person join the forum..welcome that person and extend to that person the same welcome that you recieved when you first joined the forum.
If that person posts that he/she is "Pro-Kill" and you don't like it..don't respond to that persons posts. A person saying they are "Pro-Kill" is not against the forum rules..yet..LOL.
As it has been pointed out..a person can have a "Pro-Kill" view and not be willing to be the one to pull the trigger themselves.
One of the rules I set for myself while I was in the Army was this: Don't ask anyone to do something that I would not be willing to do myself.
I tend to believe that if a person feels that they would not like to be the person to pull the trigger on a Bigfoot..they are more "NO-Kill" than they think they are. It's OK..as long as somebody else does it....BULL. If you can't do it..then it's not OK. Think about it.
Getting back to what to do about posts you don't like:
Don't reply to them. If the person posting does not get a reply..they will end up talking to themselves, leave, or do something else that will get them kicked and banned and that will be the end of it. Don't let other people cause you to go down the same road. Don't break the rules replying to those that you don't agree with.
The forum does have an "ignore" button you can click and you will not see that persons posts again.
I have heard that some have said they will leave the forum if I banned this person and others will leave if I don't.
This puts me in the middle of something I didn't start and wasn't here to end it ..before it got to this point.
While some were seeing one side of Bigfoot Research..I was seeing another side of it.
What I saw:
I saw a gathering of researchers, some were young, some were old.."sorry tal"LOL. Some were new to the research and some have been doing it for over 30 years.
I saw male and I saw female. I saw researchers from Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, and Arkansas (Hope I got everyone) working together and doing some great research and having a great time.
Our hosts were wonderful and spent a great deal of time and money putting this outing together.
What were we charged for this outing? Nothing!
Did you read..what I just posted? Can something like this really happen in Bigfoot Research? Yes it can..I saw it and I was there.

I went through my pictures today, and realized that the year of my second sighting was written in wrong, the actual year wasn't 2006..... It was 2007. I couldn't go in and edit it, to correct it so I am writing to inform the readers of this site.
Thanks,
Becky

This account is very intriguing as the author, MS Sawyer, eloquently elaborates the details to picture, perfect clarity.
The question asked was, "could it have been the same creature I saw in 2006?" The possibility of it being the same, but an older creature, is very conceivable. With my research, I have found that two of their main assets, having remained the same over this short span of time, territory and food sources, allows the BF to remain within that same general location with no compulsion to leave. A one mile difference between sighting locations is, by no means, a far reach.
Thanks ma'am, for sharing this very private moment of tranquility with the forum as I understand perfectly what you felt.

| Reading about people who come upon BF and have face to face encounters makes me wonder what one could do to keep them from walking off! I don't mean killing one. I have read where people have started talking to it etc and it either runs or walks off. I wonder what it would take for it to stay there and not run. Hope that doesn't sound stupid coming from a novice on the whole BF experience. I can't blame you for not wanting this encounter to end. I think I would feel the same. diane

I wonder that almost every day... Well, all that I can say is that it will be on THEIR TERMS, NOT OURS. I feel blessed for each and every encounter, however small they may be. To them we are the strangers, coming into their world, and not the other way around. As long as we tread lightly, and be patient, we may just get that chance to experience the wonder of them and what they know.

I know that these "treasure" encounters happen. When they do they have to be a truely life changing experience.
I can also understand how ..when a person decides to share the experience the last thing they want or need is someone doubting the story. I for one believe you and hope that one day..the same thing happens to me.
For the benefit of those that may question this encounter..can you tell us how you managed to control the natural reaction that most would have..to run/scream/jump in truck/crank truck and floor-board it/ all of the above?
I guess what I am trying to get you to tell us is..as Paul Harvey..would say..the rest of the story.

When this initally happened, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Then when it did register what exactlly was going on......I was VERY INTIMIDATED and SCARED. I mean I am 5'8" and about 145lbs, and this thing was between 7 & 8 feet tall and most likely 500+ lbs. You do the math... The very first thing that ran through my mind was...he is so close...I am gonna die if I make any sudden moves. This creature is gonna take my head off, rip my arms from their sockets and beat me with them. Then it was weird, this feeling of calm came over me, like relief after you wet yourself..(.but I didn't) I knew, and I don't know how, but I knew that I wasn't be harmed. It just stood there....looking at me. ( the only way I can describe it now is like when a rabbit meets a cat, they are unsure of what the other is thinking..so they don't move and try not to think of anything, or if I don't move they won't see me ...kinda thing)
But let me tell you.....after it left, I did get the heck out of dodge !!! I drove towards the direction of the nearest public road, pulled over onto the shoulder of the road......and preceeded to cry uncontrolably, for what seemed 15-20 minutes.
Don't get me wrong..I can handle alot...but this was a mentally challenging evening!
I have been told by quite a few people that am crazy, ...............................And my reply to them is always...................THANK YOU !

Thanks again for sharing this story with us. I called it a "treasure" encounter. Really it is a "treasure" moment. Something that happens in just a few moments of our life that stand at the top of the list of the things we have seen/done/experienced.
I think everyone has them..just some are more unusual than others.
