Thank you so much for posting your experiences here Ambertide.  It sounds exciting, yet scary.    :shock:        When I read the part of your story that is quoted above, it startled me a bit because I found an area like this out in the woods, and I tried and tried to put a natural spin on it and figure out how these very large pieces of wood had all fallen right here in a large square.  It enclosed a very large area that was abutted by a very large  tree stump.  It looked just like a house foundation, like when you mark the areas for outside walls and the ground inside of this square, definately looked pretty....comfortable......for the forest floor, I mean.  Give me carpet anyday.  LOL      But I still had not grasped this in my mind totally.  I guess because it did look so much like the darn foundation to a new home, and was completely out of place there.  It was located in a clearing about half way to the bottom of a ravine.

I know this post is a little later than all of the others here, but I just joined and am trying to catch up with all this brilliant information on this site.
