| It never ceases to amaze me at the wisdom spoken from all my friends here. I truly admire and respect every one of you. Ya'll have raised some questions that I don't know that we'll ever have the answers to... until the Almighty reveals it to us. Do these "beings" possess a soul? Is their presence in this world the result of us casting away society's "rejects"? The answer to both of these questions could very well be yes. Now, this is just my beliefs that I'm about to state. I have never wanted to see one of these "beings" killed, caged, examined or autopsied. They are surely ancient, at the very least. We as a society have done way too much damage to their habitat. They are being squeezed into smaller and smaller parcels of land. I would like to continue to learn about them from afar and I'm sure the rest of their story will be revealed to us in the bye and bye. I yield the floor.........TnC.......

Thank you Aecaw and Tal.
Yes, Tal, I have read your piece on feral childeren and certainly see that as a possibility. The reports on feral children, especially from the eighteenth century do show, as you suggest, a rapid transformation. Increased body hair, senses of hearing, vision and smell and enhanced strength and speed quickly appear. It seems that most of them, when captured, could not be rehabilitated. Whatever it turns out that happened, it certainly appears to me that the RFPs may feel as though they have found their niche, earn an adequate living and see no need to 'advance'.
I believe that similar beings have existed in other countries for much longer than we might suspect. It could well be that they are only now becoming obvious to more astute observers. Who knows?
One question should be is 'how long have they been around? I thought Tal's piece on 'Footprints in Stone' is highly intriguing. I hope that more work can be done in that area. The RFP may be far more ancient than first thought.
Tal, as to 'geezerhood' you don't qualify for a copyright. I have longevity on you, kiddo - I checked. I concede you have the edge in intelligence, though. (Nice try, anyway!)

I had typed this up but decided not to post it. After reading your post..you have inspired me. So..here goes.

First let me say that I am sorry your original post got caught up in this debate.
I also feel the same way about this as you do.
It has been one of those things that has fueled the fires of separation on many forums and continues to do so. This is why I have these few simple rules on this forum.
I did not say and hopefully never will say..if you are Pro-Kill don't join this forum.
Like I have said before..I can see and understand both sides of the issue and I can deal with both.
If I started a new forum and named it"What will a Dead Bigfoot do for research" and I asked that question..the largest response would most likely "Prove that they are real".
I know that they could get a lot of info about the health, diet, abilities of the creature from a body. Would this put and end to the "we need a body" for science"?
Most likely not. Like it has been mentioned, they will want a male and female and who knows what else. Then we have the possible different various breeds of these creatures. We have the short black, the tall brown and the red ones. Oh..don't forget the white ones. Are the Sunk Apes a different creature? Might as well shoot one of those to make sure. See where this is going?
The old argument that the scientist need a body to prove they are real and to classify these creatures so that we can protect them is almost like an oxymoron “cruel kindness”.
Yep..we need to kill a few so we can protect them. Makes sense to me..yep!
Now I will get off my soap box and get back to the point:
Why argue this point and start name calling because of this. If someone wants to shoot one of these creatures..for whatever reason..fire away. I am sure it won't be the first time that one has been shot.
What most don't realize is there are things that will go with this package that they have not planned for. This is what and why the NO-Kill folks are trying to tell the PRO-Kill and they don't believe them.
So..go ahead, put the crosshairs on a Bigfoot, look him in the eyes and pull the trigger. Then you can ask yourself..now what?
Your life just got a lot more complicated.
You don't believe what I am saying..go on out there and shoot one and see.
The "PRIZE" will not be what you expect it to be.
I will just wait for that log truck to do one in and then see what happens.

Thanks to all of y'all who have spent the time to put your thoughts and intellect into this thread. To me, it's another indication of the reason I keep coming here.
Thank you, Mike, for what you have here. And thank you again, Bear, for telling me about this forum.

exactly my feeling sir...this whole topic is a mess within the BF commnity and too many people...way too many people have placed the preverbial line in the sand..on this isse i am certain no compromise can be established..my personal feeling is to take the high road so to speak and just avoid the fray...i lean pro kill..certainly does not mean i advocate just blasting the living (bleep) out of these creatures..like you said sir...im just going to sit on the sidelines and watch the fallout when a BF gets wacked by a truck....ive said my peace..if you guys run me off so be it..but i would have liked to attend and meet you guys at dixie's outing...i may come at this whole fray from a different angle..but that certainly does not mean i do not want to learn more..in the end....dealing with a booger means fun stuff to learn...

JayB: Dang it, I paid that lawyer $6.58 to get that copyright!
And about that smartness thing. When I was younger, I paid a guy for "smart pills". I took the first dose and found out they were rabbit "pills". When I got on him about selling me rabbit s---, he said, "See there, you're smarter after the first treatment!" (If brains were gunpowder, I wouldn't have enough to blow my nose.)
But seriously, these creatures are something special that God made. He has done a remarkable job of keeping them safe and basically hidden from us. Why do we think we should know everything God does? I think that sometimes humans, in general, have a bloated idea of themselves and their role in God's overall plan for this old world. There is good solid evidence that this planet was at one or more times inhabited by men that were nearly as advanced as us. There just may be a heck of a lot more to history than is recorded in the school books. And we already know those books overlooked cousin "Booger".
Respectfully,

Needless to say, Tal, I agree with your thoughts. For some reason, humans tend to assume that we're the only sentient beings in the universe. We tend to lose sight of the fact that the Creator, from time to time, disagrees with us. Long ago I became convinced that the beings not only exist but are very special creations. (I am most pleased to see you using the scientific term, 'boogers'.)
Don't worry about being ripped off on that copyright. I paid $12.50 for the certificate proving that I'm older than you.
