Recent events have prompted me bring this to everyones attention.
Questions came up about the chatroom and what is allowed there.
I think the forum rules will govern the chatroom, as this is part of the forum.
I also believe that I should not have to remind grown adults to watch their language in an open and public forum and chatroom.
Can young folks visit and read the chatroom? Yes they can and they do.
This site is not classed as an adult site. It is classed as an Educational site.
Alabama Bigfoot Forum is intended strictly for the use of conversation, sharing of information and study, pertaining to the subject of Bigfoot...
Alabama Bigfoot Forum does not endorse the idea of Bigfoot being paranormal, psychic, telepathic, coming from or related to UFO's and alien beings. Please refrain from conversations pertaining to such, as well as other "fringe" topics, unless answering or asking a specific question in regard to Bigfoot and those topics. Forum and chat room participants are asked to use their own discretion when interacting with other members.
Use of This Site
Participation in the Alabama Bigfoot Forums is based on the sole discretion of its operators (Admin.) (Moderators)
Members are welcome to join in the discussions, leave posts, ask questions, as long as they abide by the posting rules.
POSTING RULES:
The use of foul language of any kind will not be tolerated.
The posting of political or religious topics is not allowed.
****
I was also asked about PMs or Private Messages.
PMs are a way for members to contact one another without disclosing their personal email addresses.
Can the Admin read PMs? Yes! On this forum and most others. Do I read PMs of all members? No ..I have no need to or desire to read them.
Private Messages may be monitored by the Admin. if a violation of the rules are in question and only at that time.
I will also read and delete PMs of those members that get banned from the forum.
If anyone has questions about the above or suggestions that may help make this a better forum, please feel free to post.
Thank you.

I would also like to tell a few folks that have asked me why certain individuals have not been banned from the site.
Some have been removed as members of the forums but still continue to show up from time to time in the chatroom.
Can I ban them from the chatroom? I could, but because of the way their Internet provider works, I would be banning other members who have done nothing wrong. It seems that some IP addresses are randomly used by a number of users and this prevents me from banning that IP address.
I could ban the name and delete it..but that will only last until the person logs-on under a different name.
I hope I cleared that issue up. I do not let those that say and do whatever they wish..remain on the forum. But I can not block them from the site and the chatroom with-out blocking others.

Mike,
Thank you for posting this. Personally, I feel the rules aren't unrealistic and should be easy to comply with.

| Mike, I've said this before but I will say it again for the benefit of the newer members. First, Donna, you are absolutely right. There is nothing about being a member here or using the chatroom that is hard to do. We all have been taught, at an early age, to respect others and to mind our manners. That should be simple and should be the very least all of us can do. Mike has been very generous and gracious in allowing us to use this place as our refuge. It costs him alot of money and he and others donate a great deal of time and effort into making this the premiere website for the study and knowledge sharing about reclusive hominids. Thank you Mike and all the others who help! Let's all try to help by reading and following the rules and regs. It would be a giant BC powder for all the administrators!! ----TnC--------- Last edited on Mon Sep 15th, 2008 02:55 pm by tennesseecherokee

Very well put TNC ,I think you stated how most all of us feel. Thank you Mike and you keep doing things the way you are and things will be just fine. Like TNC said we're all adults here and should conduct our selves as such. But thats just the way I see things.

| it is inevitable in this current climate that religion and politics is going to be mentioned in the chat...from what i have seen it has been very civil and i have yet to see any harsh criticism of others viewpoints/beliefs (may be i missed it though)...i also firmly believe that whoever is complaining (is it 1 person?) has an agenda far beyond boogers and is trying to shut down others beliefs...i dont really care for politics but i am a christian who hates abortion and does believe in the 2nd amendment....i also firmly believe that this is the (bleep) finest booger site on the net with ideas that are exchanged with great civility.....i dont have any tolerance for a weasel complaining when others have belief that is different then the weasel..i really dont know what occured including who the heck is misusing PM's but i do know i will limit my beliefs on this forum as to prevent discourse amongst members (respect for mike)...snoots

Mike,
the rules that are here have created a better learning potoential especialy for someone like myself who doesnt get out much in the field. It takes away the opportunity for any of us even unwillingly to get off the subject at hand. I have visited many forums and Like this one the best hands down. your doing a great job & the people that post here I find very helpful and freindly. so its working if ya ask me.If I was there I'd buy ya a beer cheer ya LOL. seriously I find this forum very informative and positive. I found this site from blogtalk radio and the people on the show who represent ABR also do justice to it. I hear ol' bear on there and It makes me wanna sit on a fron porch w/ him over a tall glass of lemonade or cold beer and hear his stories, he seems like my kinda folk.
God Bless,
Frog

Thanks for the nice words froggyvet.
This forum started with me and tal and grew to 4 or 5 of us that just got tired of the other forums. I started this out to be different from the rest.
I saw things that were let go in the other forums that should have been stopped. I saw all the kill..kill..and what type of gun do I need..until I was sick of it.
I saw folks saying things that I knew was false and if anyone spoke against that..the fellow ramrods would defend one another until they ran the person off or caused the person to say something that would get them kicked and banned.
This is still the norm on most...sorry to say.
There are those in the Bigfoot community that don't like me much. I say what I mean and stand my ground. If I am wrong..I will admit it and I know how to say I am sorry.
That is the best I can do.

I said it once before, and I say it again, Mike you do a great job with this forum, and all the aspects of this forum. This forum is different than the other forums, and I am proud to be a part of it. Keep up the good work! H.F.
