With next week coming up, it will be two months until the October outing in NW Alabama, scheduled for the weekend of Oct. 24th, 25th and 26th. I want all who plan on attending, to post after this message so I can determine how many is actually coming. There will no exceptions, as I would like for everybody to see who is also going to be there. I need an accurate number from each party, in other words, don't email me later that my wife, brother, sister-in-law decided to come with me, I want an accurate number between now and the 1st of Sept. I also want all to know what is required from you as a participant. This will be posted with a few rules and regulations.
We need several members, maybe those living closer, like the state of Alabama, to please bring as much firewood as possible. Let me know when you post, if you can do this, so I can determine if we need others to bring firewood also.
Please be prepared to bring tents and camping gear as this will be a primitive camp site, with no public bathrooms or shower facilities. Several will be staying in local hotels and they may allow the use of their showers, but this is not guaranteed.
Please tell me if you are planning on camping out, or staying in hotels. I will post the nearest town by PM with other information after I get a accurate head count.
Be prepared to bring your own supplies as this is important, for eating and refreshments. This is not a church social, but we may pool together money from everybody to cook for the whole crew on Friday and Saturday night. Do not come expecting to be waited on, but be prepared to pitch in and help with anything required. I cannot stand people thinking that others should do all the work. We either work together, or don't plan on attending.
We will have several members bringing canoes and low draft boats, as the location can be navigated more easily by water. We have an extensive plan for Friday and Saturday night where only certain members have already been pre-determined to participate. If you don't already know about this, then you are not included in this, but another segment of this plan, so please know, before signing up to come, that this has already been determined and no squabbling about it later. We are getting together as a large group, but the main mission is collecting evidence which is pertaining to this plan. This is very important.
I will not allow any alcoholic beverages or drugs on any of my outings so don't bring them unless you are under Doctor's orders.
No children under the age of 15 are allowed as we cannot control their behavior and their being quiet is a major part of an outing of this magnitude during certain moments (like recording among other things). If you bring somebody that can not contain their behavior, then you will be asked to leave, and you WILL LEAVE!
No pets or dogs and cats are allowed with one exception, Coonbo's dog, Bo. Bo has been trained to do this and he has saved our bacon on a number of occasions. You cannot control a dog from barking, I don't care how much you believe that you can. This disrupts the outing and a number of people are coming from almost 1000 miles away to attend. So NO PETS ALLOWED!
I will not allow anybody to attend that has any agenda not related to BF. This includes religious topics, UFO's, or anything else that the majority attending will be against. No alternative life styles are allowed, no zealots, no idiots, or in general, troublemakers. You may think that we cannot force you to leave, but you had better rethink that, as we CAN make this happen.
No firearms will be allowed as this is dangerous. If you have a permit for a firearm, you may bring it, but this is to remain out of sight and not shown around!
This outing is to gather evidence of BF so you may bring cameras, recording equipment, and anything else of your choosing, like casting material for footprint castings. Anything collected is yours, not ours, unless you decide to share with others.
I will be in total charge and would hope that when I ask something of you, to be prepared to do it. From past outings we have had problems with people talking when others are trying to record, so when I say be quiet, be prepared to BE QUIET! Others will be in charge also, but we don't ask much unless we have to as I would like to think I'm dealing with adults and not idiots.
Other rules will be made as we get closer to the date.
I will be using this list of those posting to attend after this message, to take this discussion into a private capacity by either email or the forum's PM board. The exact location and traveling information will only be made known only about 3 weeks before the outing.
I have also noticed from past experience, that a number who plan to attend, usually change their minds, the closer it gets to the date. I want an accurate head count, so know before hand that you will be attending. That is why you have until Sept. 1st to give a public answer.
Now, post away if you are coming, as I'm very much looking forward to this.

I'll be there Bear, and will be camping. I don't know about Diane...she hasn't received her work schedule for October yet. I'll let you know. I can bring my own food if you need me to...but I will also donate money for the group's food. Just let me know. Thanks for this wonderful opportunity!! I can't wait!!

I dont know Bear.....all them rules pretty much rules me out....me and my big mouth....I dont know....lol.....first of all...I have to see how much it cost to fly. And I can sleep in a tent or outside...or in a hotel if someone wants to go in on it.....I cant bring a tent if I'm flying in. I will just bring me myself and i...and I can buy a sleeping bag there or I can give you a list you can go to the store for me.......lol....(am i chapping your hide yet)...I love to mess with you.
If I'm coming its just going to be me and thats it. I would be coming Friday morning and leaving Sunday sometime. What airport would I be flying into so I can go check it out.

I will pick you up at Memphis, Tennessee, Cindy ma'am, that being the closest airport. It is called Memphis International Airport (only because they ain't named it after Elvis yet, but I heard that is in the works).

Well.....put me down for planning to attend. I'll be camping and will be there Friday night til Sunday sometime. Am I on the list for Friday and Saturday nights? haha.....probably not since I just showed up today but if you can slip my name in I'd love to be involved.

Well the good lord willing and the river don't rise,me and my wife(aka-the fox hunter! LOL LOL,Bear understand's )will be there sometime friday afternoon. So ya'll be ready.  All in all we are looking forward to meeting all of you and 1 or 2 BF.

We'll be coming too. My wife and I, my son and his wife, and two friends. If I'ma figurerin rite thats 6. I have a couple wookie friends who planned on showing but they just told me they have something planned that weekend. Maybe they'll change their mind.
I have a couple others interested that I'll get a cofirmation from before your sept deadline. I also have a 2500 HD truck that we'll try our best to fill up with fire wood. We'll be setting up tents and I may need to get a room incase my asthma acts up I'll decide that then. I won't be far from my home so it will be easy to just go there to.

I would love to join you on this expedition, just can't give a positive because of babysitting grandbaby schedule! If nothing else, I could help cook!! As long as I did not have to stay in the dark alone, I would make it!
Anyway, I do have these 2 HUGE pecan tree limbs (and 1 smaller) down in my yard and anyone close to me is welcome to come cut them up ASAP to get them out of my way. It can be my contribution! So, Watch1, if you know anyone that lives close enough to me, give them my contact info (or you can contact me) and they can get them and have them on hand for the outing.
I wish you all the best of luck and can't wait to hear results.

I'm not picking on you Jo Jo ma'am, as I've noticed a tread that this is taking, but the purpose of this posting is to find out who is definitely coming, not if your schedule allows it. I need a definitive head count, not speculation. That is the real purpose of this posting. Speculation, I can do without having to post of it. An example, I can speculate that ABOUT 30 MIGHT be attending. I need definitive answers. So those THINKING they might be attending, I want DEFINITIVE answers.
From those that have answered me so far, this is what I have to go on. Counting me, I have 17 attending so far with 2 maybes. I don't need the maybes.
Jo Jo ma'am, if you can attend, I promise you that you will not be left alone at any time. That is definitive.
Now, I hope this does not make people angry as I'm not picking on certain ones. I just need to KNOW how many is REALLY coming.
Now, knowing what I need, let's do this again.
BTW: One more rule or regulation to add: I cannot guarantee the language of the participants coming. If rough or off-color language cannot be either overlooked or accepted to a certain degree, this may not be your type of outing. I will not allow anybody to be outrageous with their language and disrespect but I also cannot guarantee that this will be a "cussing free zone" either. I can get to rattling off at times myself so don't expect a family ranking of "G," but more like a "PG-13" environment. I'm not going to wash anybodies mouth out with soap but also expect to try to mind your manners like your Mother taught you as you will be embarrassed by other participants. You are all adults and should already know what type of language is offensive compared to other words, so please try to show a little respect especially around the ladies attending.
Also, if you cannot control your sexual, carnal urges for two nights, then get a private hotel room. If I even suspect that this is going on within view or hearing of the group, your ass, tent and all, will be thrown in the lake. Bet on it!

Bear as it looks me and Kieth will be coming early Saturday morning , leave very early were can be there. by 7 or 8 am. Also will camp and bring some firewood and canoe,If there is any thing you need let me know. Also will be willing to pitch in for food as we done here back in May. I have no problems with the rules. DB, I thought you gave us till sept 1st to give a final head count. Thats why I said that I have to get commitments from two more. Which I will have in a couple days.
Still 17 is a good group and sounds like I need to bring two truck loads of wood.

Sept. 1st is the cut-off date for commitments, I was just referring to the ones saying "I might can come", or "I don't know for sure, but count me in." This is not what I'm asking. Sept. 1st will be the cut-off date and I "might" or "I don't know" ain't a commitment.
What has happened in the past is that certain people want to know all the details and locations for nefarious reasons and they will do anything to get this, so I have to decide who will receive it. They then will declare that they are coming, I send out all the information, then they back out with valuable information, something for nothing, then they use this for their own means and claim it as their own research location. This happens more then people think.
I have a personal policy, if I plan a outing and you declare that you are coming, then back out at the last min., I feel used, so if they do this a second time then they will be excluded from any future outings with me. This has happened in the past, that certain people will say they want to come, but don't know if they can, but then they have the nerve to say, well, I would like to know where it is at in case I want to show up? If a person has no intentions of coming, why do you need to know where it is at? Some use this as a way to get research locations for their usage only and I don't operate that way.
This ain't my first "Rodeo" in as much as outings are concerned. I've done this many times over a number of states for almost 10 years now. If it gets to the point that it is too complicated, I might decide to only hold private research outings. Remember, I open my outings up to everybody and don't charge a dime, but if the hassles outweight the cost (nothing) then I'll just conduct private expeditions in the future.
So please have enough respect to honor what I need before Sept. 1st. It should be simple, not complicated.

I'll definetly be coming. I'll be bringing a low draft boat, and a conoe. I can also bring an extra tent and cot, and I will also have on hand a large camp box with various can goods, camp stove and of course my trusty coffe maker. I will in addition be carrying all of my other research equipment for recording, and casting. I'll be there in time to make camp on Friday, and stay through Sunday.

I am so friggin' excited I can hardly stand it! My baby brother Matt and I will be there with bells on (not literally, I look stupid in bells...) We will be camping and will bring firewood. If I can get the van running we will load it down with all we can fit, if not there will be a packed trunk in the Taurus with it, but we will certainly bring what we can carry... I look forward to meeting all of you! My wife told me this will be my deer hunting trip for this year but I can always do that next year...  Now I am rambling, sorry. 2 for me and I can hardly wait!

I'd love to do this, but by just joining the group I don't know if you guys and gals include newbies on these kind of things. I know NOTHING about what to do so I'll think i'll just read up and learn a little bit more and try going on the next one. Plus it will give me some time to chat with all of you more, lol.
Plus to admit, i'm still a little scared
