| I've got a question and I figured the forum would be the best place to come. Me and some friends are planning a bigfoot outing toward the end of december. one of my buddies is coming in from iraq and we're just wanting to get out away from everything and do some research. we're looking at two different areas. one is desoto state park in dekalb county which connects with little river canyon and the other spot is cheaha state park in the talladega national forest. what my question is; is has anyone done research in either of those areas? did you have any luck? i'm just trying to figure out which area would be best or if neither are a good choice. any help would be appreciated.

Hey Jazz,
I have not done any research in either of the two forest, but have read of at least 4 or 5 accounts of different folks having experiences while camping out at Cheaha. One was a boy scout camping group and another was a family outing. So, I know there is something there. Have not read of any accounts at Little River Canyon, but haven't seen them yet.
Hope this helps. Maybe someone else has more info.

I'll be in DeSoto State Park this weekend, I'll let you know if I hear or see anything...lol. I'm from the Talladega National Forest area. You could possibly run into something around there. Have you read the reports from Talladega County? There are some great reports.
Thank your friend ,who is coming home from Iraq, for his service. We appreciate it.

Back from DeSoto State Park. It's got some promise. David and I saw a bowed tree, but we spent most of our time hiking and enjoying nature. There was a number of pushed over trees. We only had an afternoon to walk through but I'm sure if you and your group check it out you'll be able to find much more.
Enjoy your outing.

| Good luck on your outing, but I would be careful on telling where you would go to anyone but immediate family. You don't want to salt the ground and find out that a lot of people have suddenly shown up in your research area. I have had that happen, and it ruined it so much that I have not been back. Nothing more frustrating than an area ruined by other people intruding. All your work in that area would be all to naught.
