Here is a first for me. We went on the spur of the moment..nothing planned. Just a few of us decided to go out and see if the RFP were still in the area.

You decide.

There is a knock in the distance right before I knock 3 times. right after the knocks..we hear something ..not sure what it is ..faint but a 6 year old young man we have with us hears it and says "what was that". You can here us talking in the background and when you hear this you will understand why we were talking.

Never before have I gotten this response to knocking.

Enjoy!

Oh..there are some more interesting sounds on the recording. When I get caught up..I will go through them and see what I find.

Wow Mike, that is very interesting. First I want to commend you on excellent wood knocking, your timing is good. Now for what followed. I listened to it about ten times. I really don't know what to make of it. At first, I thought coyote but then the vocal had such a hylobateslar type quality(gibbon). The vocalizer seems to be entertaining himself more than communicating with others. Just my opinion. I am truely stumped on this one. Great recording.

Good recording Mike!! While I was playing it, it made one of my schnauzers cut his head over at me and bark. I have 4 of them but the only one that responded was the one that has been on all the outings and also has went with us researching at our own area so I found that interesting! The wood knocks I just loved, I haven't heard good wood knocks in a while. If I remember right in our opinion 3 knocks was locator and lots of times would be responded to with 1 knock. Great job!!! It is so good to see folks getting out there and beating the bushes :)
