This is not related to BF, but it is related to Alabama.   Believe it or not, this is a Finnish rock group singing with the Soviet Red Army Choir.   You have to listen and tell me who da thought it??????

That was way too cool!

It is amazing how much influence Ronnie Van Zant and the boys had with people from all over the World!

Yes, the band continues today but, in my humble opinion, it will never be the same. It is great in that the new Skynyrd band is carrying on the tradition, but this is just window dressings compared to the orginal boys from Florida.

"To me, there's nothing freer than a bird, you know, just flying wherever he wants to go. And, I don't know, that's what this country is all about, being free. I think everyone wants to be a free bird." - Spoken by Ronnie Van Zant in an interview, while doing something he loved, fishing.

Dixie,

You are so right, Ronnie V should have been an ambassador for our USA.  Could have accomplished much.  But, I guess he has anyway. Being that this is way after he is gone ;according to this video at least and us enjoying his music talents daily. Maybe it would have made him proud to have seen the joy in the people's faces as they were performing and listening to his music............what a legacy! Anyway, he will always be remembered thru his music  FREEBIRD and SWEET HOME ALABAMA  and all others.

Awesome video. I remember my friends and I taking some Russian cavers caving in Alabama shortly after the Soviet Union collapsed. The first stop they wanted to make was the salvage store in Scottsboro (that store really is world famous). Since we were a large group, we divided into two groups for the cave trip. When my group came out, we heard gunfire from up by our trucks, to which we figured the first group had already returned. When we got back to the trucks, the Russian cavers were having a blast, literally, with some of the local boys, who were letting them fire all their guns. The Russians were thrilled to be shooting pistols and such, and the 'Bama guys were vastly amused to find themselves teaching Russians how to shoot out in the backwoods of Alabama. Lol!
