Here are a few scenic landscape pics I've taken while on various motorcycle road trips here in the northeast.
These first bunch of pics were taken on a trip I took to Bear Mountain & Harriman State Parks in Rockland and Orange Counties, NY in November 2003.
This first pic shows a partial view of the Bear Mountain Bridge as it spans the Hudson River near the towns of Peekskill and Fort Montgomery, NY. The bridge is located just a few miles south of the world famous West Point Military Academy.

Here's another view of the Bear Mountain Bridge from the side of Bear Mountain on Perkins Memorial Drive which runs all the way to the top of the mountain where there is a scenic overlook. You can see for many miles in 3 directions from up there and on a clear day you can see the skyscrapers of the famous Manhattan NYC skyline located 45 miles to the south.

Here I am standing at the top of Bear Mountain out on one of the huge and mostly flat boulders that make an idea natural observation platform.

Well just so you all can see what this area looks like when it's still green, here are some pics from another trip I took there in August 2004.
These first two pics were taken by my friend Jim as we pulled over in the middle of the Bear Mountain Bridge to shoot some video of the Hudson from the bridge. I'm on my bike while my wife is filming.

A quick stop for a photo op in the park at this temporary waterfall that was formed by rain water run off as the result of heavy rains the week before. Sorry for the blurred out face but my wife prefers to keep her picture off the internet (I don't really even know why myself) so I'm just honoring her wishes.

This is a partial view of one of the lakes located along 7 Lakes Drive which runs directly through the center of both parks and as the name implies offers views of 7 of the 20 plus lakes in the parks.

Okay last few pics here for now. These are from a May 2008 trip to the Port Jervis, NY area and a ride on Route 97 as it twists along the Delaware River which is the border between NY and PA.
Here is a view of a few of the twists found on Route 97 in an area known as The Hawks Nest since its located among the cliffs and offers a birds eye view of the Delaware as it flows along the road far below. You can just see the edge of the river here on the left side of this pic.

The elevation of the scenic overlook located on Perkins Memorial Drive at the top of Bear Mountain is just under 1300 feet above sea level. There have been three encounter reports in the area of Bear Mountain & Harriman State Parks since 1990.
Two of these reports are from Cedar Flats Road which runs along the eastern edge of Harriman State Park and is just outside the park in Stony Point, NY. One was a sighting and one was just a simple track find, after the creature had passed through the area, with no sighting or other direct encounter.
The most recent report was a sighting inside Harriman State Park State Park in 1997 at a campsite on Arden Valley Road, which is about 7 miles southeast through the park from the scenic overlook as the crow flies.

Thanks for all the nice comments on my pics guys!
I have a few more pics from these same trips that I didn't post yet but I have to upload them to Photobucket first before I can post them here.
I also just took some brand new scenic pics today while I was hiking the Appalachian Trail in Dutchess County, upstate NY. Those are still on the SD card in my camera so once I get them all into my computer I'll try to upload them to Photobucket and get them posted too!
