If there is anything anyone needs help with on the forums..just let me know. There is a (HELP) button located at the top..but this is general info.
Someone asked me if there is a way to look at a single users posts. There is..in a way.
The forum is run on PHP programing language and this is like a big data base. You can search for any word..try (apple) and the topics that (apple) is used in..will be listed. Scroll through the posts and you will find the word listed (highlighted).
If you look for posts by a user..type the user name and search. If you check the (search by username) box..you will only get the users profile info.
I plan to use this in the future to post all the reports in. It will take some work..but it can be done. It would be nice to search on a word/name/location and see what reports contain that info.
I am thinking about adding a few things to the forums in the future. Have you seen anything you like in any other forums..let me know.
Live chat in the same area ..on the forums is possible with add-ons. The main website has a chatroom if anyone would like to use it..feel free. Maybe we can set up a day..time to chat some day soon.

It's the forum settings. It won't let you post a photo over a certain size. There are a few ways you can do things. Use a photo resizer like you did, sign up with Picasa or photobucket.
http://picasa.google.com/
This is an excellent program. You can organize your photos, do slide shows and email photos to others with just a click of the mouse. They do some auto resizing when you post them on the web and you can email yourself a photo and it will fit just right on the forums. That is not the best way to do it..but it works if you don't have a lot of time to spend on just one photo.
The file size is limited to 500000 bytes so thats around 500k. My photos come out of the camera at around 3.2 megs in the jpg format. So..you have to do a lot of resizing and loss of quality on some pictures.
If I ever get time..I am going to set up a photo album that all can post to..in the future.
I am waiting to see what the new version of the forum software has with it before I do anything else. They keep saying..soon..so I am waiting.

Is there a way to stop getting the e-mail notifications I receive each time a new post is posted to the topics I have on my Watched Topics list ?

Yes there is. Go to (My Account) Then to (Preferences) and then un-check (Always notify by e-mail when replies posted to topics you participated in). I think that will do it. Not sure..let me know.

When you post .. you can also un-check the (Notify me by e-mail when replies are posted to this topic) at the bottom and you will not get email when someone replies to your post.

Thanks, but that is already unchecked and some of the topics I have on my watch list are ones I haven't even posted in.

It would seem that if you select a topic to watch..the forum will auto send an email to let you know there is a new post. I see no way to change that in any options. The only way to stop the emails is to un-select the watched topic.
Wish I could help more.

Actually I got the e-mails to stop each time a watched topic gets a new post.
I just unchecked Allow administrator(s) of this board to send you e-mails in the preferences and that seems to have worked.

Glad you got it working like you want it to. I will remember that if anyone else has that problem. Thanks.
I keep waiting for the up-grade of the software to come out. There are supposed to be more options and better post management.

Mike,
I truley want to congratulate you on a great forum. The layout, and format are easy to navigate and use. And the quality of the members here are top notch, in my opinion.
The only thing that I would sugest is that the smaller text is too hard to read. I have a 22" monitor, and even after enlarging the text on the pages and making the web page browser as wide as the monitor will allow, I find myself leaning forward to squint at it. LOL. Now my eye sight is pretty good, maybe I'm just getting old.
I was wondering if it would be too much to ask that any one making a post use the size 3 or 4 text in the drop down window. Size 3 is what I use, just out of habit.
Thanks in advance.
Pat

SkunkApe,
I try to use the larger size text myself. I even looked for a way to set the text size as a default, but there is no setting for that in the Admin. control panel.
There is always the browser view mode..not sure if this works with internet explorer but works in firefox. Hold down the control key and hit the (+) plus key. You can reverse this by hitting the (-) key.
Works on any website

I use the browser view mode on most forums. I don't claim good eye sight any more. I enjoy the larger fonts when people use them. It makes it so much easier. I Second what Skunkape said this is a great board and the people are awesome.

If you are using Mozilla Firefox, here's how to make the fonts bigger in the settings all the time, for all pages/sites, instead of having to do it manually for each page.
Click on Tools, then choose Options (or press Alt+O). Once the options dialog pops up, click the Content icon. In the Fonts & Colors section, you can choose the desired font and its size. To override every page's/site's font settings, click the Advanced button in the Fonts & Colors section. Once that new dialog pops up, uncheck the box beside the text that says: Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above.
From the Firefox Help page:
By default, Firefox uses the fonts specified by the Web page author. Uncheck this option to force all sites to be using your default fonts instead.

You're welcome.
Using a Firefox extension called Stylish you can do some more advanced stuff, like overriding a page's CSS to customize it how you want.
Thanks on the avatar compliment.
