Here is some info I was asked to pass on.
Mike (watch1)
Hi Everybody:
This is a show reminder for Bigfoot Quest. http://www.blogtalkradio.com/Bigfoot_Quest Your hosts are Bob Coyne and Mike Killen. This week, Tuesday, February 12, 2008 @ 9:00 P.M. E.T, we go back to the Great State of Florida and wecome Mr. Pat Rance who is a long time Skunkape researcher who is just returning from an expedition to Alabama. I recently spent over an hour on the phone with Pat and believe me, he's a very interesting guy and I'm sure it'll be a great show. We also have a chat page going at the same time which is a lot of fun and the people there are a wonderful group. We hope to see you there.
Starting this week also, we are officially going to a 90 minute format. We have found that an hour is just not long enough and we were ending up not covering what we had intended to cover in the discussions.
At exactly 9:00 P.M. E.T. a button will appear on the main page with 'click to listen' and clicking on it will take you to another window where you will be able to hear the show as well as the chat window.
Please take the time to register as a 'listener' here (http://www.blogtalkradio.com) anytime prior to the show. You only need to do it once. By not registering, you still have access to the shows and chats, however, you are listed as a 'guest' and we can't tell the differance between guests. By registering, you have your own identity on these shows.

I hope anyone interested will be able to listen in, or call in with questions tonight. If not it should be downloadable by later tonight after the show airs. The show starts at 9:00 pm ET, so for those of you in Al, or MS, that will be 8:00 pm your time. I hope everyone stays safe tonight with the rough weather here in the south. Better get used to it, it's springtime, more to come.
Pat

Sad to say the weather will be rough for South and Central Alabama tonight. We took a pretty bad beating here in Central Mississippi. My wife was on the road during the squall line this afternoon and had a tree fall across the road in front of her. Had to run off the road to avoid hitting it. When she got home she found that the wind had broken the French doors (West facing) open. Keep your heads down tonight! All that and here I sit at work unable to help.

SkunkApe -
Caught the show last night - as usual, delayed due to my connection. GREAT JOB! Heard a lot of stuff I hadn't heard before.
For what it's worth, I agree with your philosophy/methods. Keep up the great work. I'm betting you'll get a big hit one day/night before too long.

Hey,
I enjoyed that also. What was said about their curiosity..I agree with 100%. That is the one thing we have going in our favor. They are curious creatures and want to know what's going on in their areas.

Couldn't get the program due to internet problems. Could someone hit the highlights of the program for those of us who missed it?
Thanks so much.

There's really too much there to summarize. Ninety minutes and just about all good stuff. You might try it again. The show is archived.

| I didnt learn a whole lot from the show, I expected these guys to be more enthusiastic on getting a pic, film or something to help prove to the public of BF existance. I mean, why isnt there an web cam set up on the kids motor bike that was being moved.I did agree on some of thier thoughts and ideas though .Just wasnt really impressed a lot. This was my 1st listen in though, maybe my expectations were set too high. Aecaw, you made a reasonable request and I didn't mean to dismiss it. Let's see if we can get some highlights here.
There were some interesting encounters from Oklahoma, Mississippi, Florida and other locales discussed. One of these was a very close one in, I believe, MS. For fear of putting words in Pat's mouth, I won't get into them. If you ask him, Pat may flesh them out a bit for you.
The area that I mentioned specifically earlier - as did Mike - was the idea that these are curious beings. If they are in the area, they will most likely want to observe you. If you treat them with respect, make no move they would consider to be threatening, and just 'observe them back', you have a real chance to build some mutual confidence and, thus, may learn a good bit. Of course, this course requires a lot of time - and, at least initially, overcoming a whole bunch of 'awe' that they inspire just with their presence. Good approach, I think. Pat notes that he has never been threatened or even growled or screamed at. I am more and more convinced that they are 'beings' - certainly not 'animals' in the lower sense of the word. (Maybe we can get into a discussion about that on the board sometime.)
Pat, jump in here and slap me upside the head if I got any of this stuff wrong. As mentioned, I thought it was a great show.

JayB, Watch1, Thanks for your interest, and comments.
Jpre1, The 2 families that I spoke of, one is in Oklahoma, the other in Mississippi, are very active in trying to obtain video, photographic and audio evidence. As a matter of fact both families spend hours everyday reviewing their recordings from the previous day and night. Every day they send to me and a small select group of other friends the audio clips, photos and video clips of suspected evidence for peer review. I literally have hundreds of clips. Most are interesting, but not necessarily conclusive. There are however numerous audio, or video clips, and photos that are quite astounding. Most of what they are experiencing, is shared in the written form. I have traveled and spent quite a bit of time at both locations, and spent the last year talking countless hours on the phone with them both. One thing that I can unequivocally say is that I can not only vouch for their honesty, but their character as well. Both families know beyond a doubt that they have RFPs on their properties. Both families have seen them numerous times, both daytime and at night. Both families have found and photographed footprints near their homes. Both families have chosen to live with this situation, and to make daily contact with the RFPs in a friendly neighborly way. Both families don't necessarily want to prove to science or to anyone else that they do in fact exist. They simply want to learn more about them and to live in harmony with them. They have graciously allowed me and a few others to share their daily, weekly experiences, with the agreement that their names, and locations are never revealed. Both families live and raise their families at the locations. This small group of interested parties have become close friends, and have numerous daily contact with each other through a private website and by email. This same small group of friends support each others research financially as well. We all have contributed money for audio, video, and computer equipment to the families so that they can continue their audio, video, and photographic collection of evidence. I am proud to personally be friends with them. Both families have asked me to be their public spokes person so to speak. Both families hope to share their experiences so that eventually laws could be passed that would protect them from being killed, just to prove to the scientific community that they do in fact exist. Both familes have the same goal to try to collect and share their evidence and experiences in the hopes to eventually prove the fact that they do exist, and that they also are much more than just mere forest animals.
While I hope to one day open my email and see absolute video or photographic proof, that would stand up to scientific scrutiny, the main goal is to learn and experience as much as possible about them. I have traveled to both locations and experienced first hand some of the the things that I spoke about on the show. Both families have chosen not to post their evidence and experiences publically. However there are several audio clips from the Mississippi location that are posted on another site that is public. Both families are very much concerned with their privacy, and are wary of attracting some of the more aggressive "BF experts" that have caused so much trouble to other people who have allowed their locations to become public knowledge.
I understand that there is a certain amout of frusteration in collecting clear video, and photographic evidence of these reclusive creatures, I believe that best approach is the slow cautious approach. To try to gain their trust and gradually build a friendly relationship with them. This may take years to achieve.
I apologize for being so long winded,
Pat

Skunkape,
I listened to the show and thought you responded to all the questions professionally and it was so wonderful to hear you say that these creatures should not be hunted down, but instead respected and protected.
You have become a champion for the creatures and you have the gratitude and respect of these families who are interacting with them, so all I can say is Bravo!!!
God bless you!

| I see a lil clearer now.I can understand all the hours of time that it takes to do the research. I,ve always been impatient , especially on things I have no clue about. I will leave this to the the professionals and hope we do get something conclusive soon.Keep us updated. Im fully aware that locations must be kept secret ,I just want to hear more of the actual encouters/ sightings.

SkunkApe,
An excellent reply.
I agree with you that sometimes it is best not to let the location be known. Strange things have happened in the past in areas that some have had research ..on going.
This is one of the reasons we are changing a few things in future sighting reports. We have tried to give exact locations to the sighting areas in an effort to be as truthful and accurate as possible with details in the report.
The more we did this..the more times we would see things going on in the area that are not the norm.
With that being said, you will notice some changes in sighting locations in future reports.
This is not being done to hide what we know from fellow researchers. It is being done to help protect the RFPs. I hope that everyone understands this.

| I caught Bigfoot Quest on Blogtalk Radio this past week on a delayed(Taped) broadcast. Pat Rance was the guest and of course, he is a member of Alabama Bigfoot Research Forums. Pat discussed his research on properties that two different families allow him to camp and "Squatch". Pat seems like a very knowledgeable researcher and did a fine job at describing his experiences. Seems he and two other friends were camping in three different tents, spread out over this active area. Right after retiring, a booger came out and brushed up against his tent , so close he could hear it's breathing. Pat had an infrared camera mounted on his center tentpole so he could rotate it and effectively use it as a "Periscope". As fate would have it---he wasn't even recording when the booger visited. He also was asked by Bob Coyne and Mike Killlen about the equipment that he uses in the field. He has an arsenal of equipment----thousands of dollars worth. The show was 90 minutes-- but they passed all too fast. They promised to have Pat back on the air soon. Give it a listen. I believe ya'll will enjoy it!-----Watch1 has the link listed above----TennesseeCherokee---

SkunkApe was also part of another panel discussion:
Habituation of Sasquatch with Steve Summar, Pat Rance and John Phillips (3/2/2008 4:00 pm cst)
If you listen to Pat talk you can easily understand why the two families chose him as their spokesman!

FBF, thank you for posting that link. Living out here in the 'high sticks', we have a most primitive internet connection (a couple of tin cans and a long wire) so there's no way we can get this stuff live. After it happens, I sometimes forget to go back and get it from the archives. Again, I'm obliged.
Steve, Pat and John did a great job with a topic that is arguably the most misunderstood in the field of sas study. Hope a lot of folks were listening!
