I have just ordered 'The Bigfoot Casebook Updated' by Bord and Bord, and  'Sasquatch - Legend Meets Science' by Jeff Meldrum.

I wonder if anyone has read them? Or, can you recommend another good book?

(Hope I have posted this in an appropriate place!)

I highly recommend for the historical and detailed accounts John Green's Sasquatch: The Apes Among Us. It is, in my opinion, one of the best and first books written about the North American creature. This rare to find volume is considered by many to be the definitive work on this subject by a lay person. In the mid 1970's Mr Green began putting his reports in format for computer analysis. The results of this are discussed at length in this book. Mr. Green's work is significant for the objectivity and also the fact that he has worked with leading Scientists such as the late Dr Grover Krantz formerly of the University of Washington. Unlike many books on this subject, there are no digressions on paranormal, Mr Green feels the evidence clearly indicates this is a upright ape, a perfectly normal animal. He does cover sightings in other parts of the United States that he has received reports of, some of which have been investigated by other researchers.

I'm sure you have read Tony Healy's book The Yowie: In Search of Australia's Bigfoot since you are from Australia. This book chronicles the yowie saga from the pre-colonial era to the present day. It contains over 300 carefully documented eyewitness reports and a vast amount of other data, much of which suggests that the (bleep)ably elusive creatures really do exist. The authors also critically examine the many theories that have been put forward to explain - or explain away - Australia's most baffling zoological mystery.

I really enjoyed the late researcher Dr. Grover S. Krantz's book, Bigfoot Sasquatch: Evidence. I found it very insightful and the theories that Dr. Krantz iterates about are astounding. "Bigfoot Sasquatch: Evidence," written by physical anthropologist Dr. Grover Krantz, is the only book on the subject of the Sasquatch that explores the enduring mystery from a scientist's point of view. It is one of my favorites.

No, I never have but I met him at the BF convention in Jefferson, Texas, and played for him the scream we recorded in Alabama in 2002 called the "T-Rex Scream." He was really amazed by that recording. He is a good man but has never actually seen a BF.

Mike and DB -

Would it be possible to post a link to the 'T-Rex Scream'? Were you able to get any recordings on this week's outing? Mike, I'm looking forward to spring when you might record some more 'talking' or 'mumbling'.

(BTW, DB, I have never seen a sas, either, but I am NOT a good man.)

I recently bought a book by Loren Coleman and Patrick Huyghe called The Field Guide To Bigfoot And Other Mystery Primates. It is very interesting in that breaks up the different types of unknown primates into different groups, it has sightings of creatures listed I haven't even heard of till now.

A couple of books I'll mention:

Alabama Unsolved Mysteries contains a chapter on Alabama's bigfoot including a interesting story from one hunter.

Also Strange But True Alabama contains a brief section on Bigfoot in Clanton.

Not too much in either book on BF but thought I'd mention em here. Both books are available at Books A Million in the "Regional" section.
