On Saturday we went up the mountain....if you take the main logging road it is ten miles up. On the way up I noticed all the new logging they were doing. No elk or moose to be seen....most of the time you will see at least one or the other. Some places were steeper than others. I can not post pictures on here so if Shasta can post the ones I sent her that would be great. On the way up we found a bowed over branch. It was perfect and three of them were bowed over. I had to hike up to get a good photo of that one.
At the top it was kind of hazy but I took some good photos of the Montana Mt. Range and Canada. We found the raspeberries not ready yet which is odd. The huckleberries were in full bloom and we picked some of those...ready for the bear at any time if they chose to show up. It was getting dusk and we found some huge elk tracks, and I walked off.......by myself and made some calls. I wanted them to know I was there. On the way down I felt a kinship with those creatures......and somehow I know they know of my interest and concern for them. I'm not going to say they can read my mind or anything like that, but they somehow know.....
The last two nights I have been outside and going across the road leaving presents......who knows who has gotten them. Last night only me and Ron and Justin were here and it wasnt even that late and I walked across the road....and it was dark. I made a call and noticed the moon. I then waited. At that moment I realized that my relationship with them changed. It was no longer researcher that I was but friend....plain and simple. If I was a researcher I would try to carry recorders, and any other kind of equipment, but instead I only take me and my thoughts into the woods and outdoors and seem to find a higher satisfaction that way. The moon did not seem complete yet. I straightened my solar lights and sat down and thought.......where are you. It was so intent that at that moment my dogs took off and there was a blood curling scream coming close but not too close. All the dogs in hearing range were going at it. More screams....I swear it sounded like a woman and a panther all rolled into one. It was a traveling scream and seemed to echo up the mountain and travelled further....kind of a continuing scream. It traveled fast...there were about three screams. The hackles on my dogs were raised and they barked for a long time. I sat down with my jaw hanging open.......it was AWESOME..........and wished that I had more people there with me witnessing that. Inside people prob had their windows closed as it was quite cool out and others were probably saying why were their animals barking so loud.
My neighbor left a message on my machine...."dont be calling those creatures down here"......lol...........thats what people tell me......not that I'm crazy or anything but the opposite. My relationship with these creatures has changed to a mellow satisfaction that only a deep friend can give you.
I'm in no rush to go into the woods alone..I am not that dumb......and there still lies a fear inside also. But nothing had me quite heckled as that area in Snohomish......county.....and I dont think I can sit down and feel as "friendly" there. People have amazing inner powers........and if you can stop and listen...you might know where your boundaries will lie just by feeling your sensations. I am lucky that I dont live in an area that I feel like that......wished you could have heard that scream....now if only I can see one of my bigfoot up here....up close and personal. Now that would be awesome.
Shasta,,,,,if you could post somewhere the photos.....I hope you were able to get the one of the bowed branch.

Just got a call today about a couple of things going on around here. First, it started with me calling them after a while of not doing nothing. Then I went up the mountain twice once on atv and in my car and making some calls. My house is down in the valley. We are hearing some strange noises at night and so are the neighbors. Of course nothing is for certain but it sure adds up to some interesting facts.
I heard the screams last night and my neighbor heard something grunting outside her window. She was alone..her husband is a nurse and works at night. It was not a moose or an elk.....and it is nothing we've ever heard before. And she has lived here for over 20 years...so it scared her. Enough for her to tell me about it. Then she said, "Stop screwing around with them...thats why I'm calling you....."...she was actually mad because she knew I had been calling them from my house and she is fifteen acres over. So now I got two houses that dont want me calling them from where I live.........I mean she was mad....lol...I tried not to laugh and wouldnt say anything else about it......weird.....maybe I should stop calling...I'm pissing off the locals.....lol......
Cougars dont grunt. And another neighbor a mile down the road seen a cougar in the backyard........so who knows........but the grunting thing has really gotten me.....

Could you do your calling and such somewhere further away from your neighbor's house? As cool as it is that you seem to be establishing some type of rapport with them, consider that your female neighbor is spending the night in her house alone with a large creature that frightens her grunting outside her window. It's not really fair to her, and there's a risk she might do something in fear, such as shoot at them or resort to calling on the type of Bigfoot "experts" that you don't want running around your area. You may have established a rapport with them, but remember that she hasn't, and you seem to be calling them down to her property. If your neighbor becomes angry enough or scared enough, you might end up bring trouble down on your Bigfoot friends!

I do live in ten and five acre parcels. I have not made any more calls..and had actually not thought of anything else about it. I"ve been busy with some other things but I suppose that is one way to think about it. I will just have to figure something out. I will have to figure out a way how to still feel comfortable on my property and be considerate of her also.
