SOME INTERESTING INFORMATION
There have been over 100 (reported, researched, or posted.. on various web sites) sightings of these elusive creatures in Alabama.
Many will find this hard to believe, but this is fact. There are a few, a very few, of these sightings, that have been researched and found to be a hoax. Like I stated, this number of hoaxed sightings is very small.
This brings us to the verified and true sightings. What do we do with these? Do we dismiss them because of the popular belief that "there is no Bigfoot creature out there and there sure is no creature like that in Alabama"? If you are one of the few who have seen this creature, you already know the answer to this.
If you ever talk to one of the few people who have seen these creatures and had an up-close encounter with one, you will soon understand why they can not and will not dismiss the idea of this creatures existence. Most will tell you "I know what I saw, it was no bear or any other kind of animal like that".
There are long time hunters who will not hunt alone after their strange encounter. There are hunters who will not hunt at night after an encounter or had their dog killed and thrown at them. There are long time hunters that will not hunt at all after seeing one of these creatures. These are the sightings that you can just about count on to be the real thing.
Many believe the scientific community needs proof of these creatures. I think the scientific community already has proof. There are those who say "we need a body to set the record strait"
I would encourage those who think this way, to reconsider this before they try to kill one of these creatures. These creatures are fast, intelligent, and stealthy when they want to be. They at times travel in small groups and if one is shot, you may have a problem with the others in its group.
They have been known to "Bluff" charge at people in an attempt to get you out of the area for whatever reason they have. It could be that they have young close by and they want you gone. If this happens, just leave the area then. You can always come back another day. Do not try and call the "Bluff" charge, they can and will get very aggressive. Those that have witnessed this "Bluff" charge will tell you..you will not have any trouble making up your mind on what to do.
If you read the reports and the articles about these creatures you will find some very strange things. I believe they can and do mimic other animal sounds, bird calls, owls, dogs and crows. Most of these have been noted in other reports and articles from past sightings of these creatures.
It is believed by some that they can speak, and that they have a language of their own.
They can whistle better than most people I know.
They knock on trees to signal or locate each other.
They can and will throw rocks or sticks in your direction.
If they wanted to hit you..they would.
These creatures are not like deer or any other animal out there in the wild. Keep that in mind if you are thinking about hunting one of them.
There is much more to learn about these creatures. I am just passing on what little I have learned about them.
I would incourage others to ask around and see if anyone you know has seen, heard, found tracks, of these creatures. Do not be surprised if you get laught at, It happens. You might also find that others have seen these things and would be willing to tell you all about it. Alot of people are just busting to tell someone but don't want to be made fun of, so they tell no one.
If you see one out in the wilds while hunting, fishing or any other activity, most have found, if you don't mess with it..it will leave you alone and be gone in a flash.
